Mémorial de la Shoah

I visited the Mémorial de la Shoah (Holocaust Memorial) today. No pictures or the like. It is a pretty stark and sobering place as well as should be.

The security was the tightest I have seen. A double door lock entry then a scan then another double door lock to get to the courtyard. And the doors were locked until the security guard released them each time. The exit doors at the end were also double and locked and you needed to be buzzed through.

It is free and has a large permanent collection of history and information. Some was translated into English.

It also has some libraries for research, including one of the old Jewish police files.

As I said, a sobering place.
